Have a couple in our area. I rarely hear stories about how well they do. Usually you would hear bragging etc.....But have heard a lot of negative stories.......Maybe its just the negative environment of commodities the last couple years. We do our own on incremental sales. Try and get a good running avg. We accelerate sales when things rally hard. Last summer in june/july would be an example. On the cattle side we try and sell every 4-6 weeks. We background to 800-1000ilbs. So start selling the big end starting now around 800ilbs by the time the last ones are gone you are up to 1000ilbs and have spread out your marketing until the fall calves hit. And then repeat. Can't out guess it. Just try and always be selling. Especially if its profitable. This winter we sat on calves through dec. crash/jan/feb. Selling some this week.
