about the only way to get it shelf stable like that would be to irradiate it, unless they can now somehow process it in the bag.
they are doing it with more and more foods all the time. hard to get used to drinking milk warm off the shelf, and it's
still ok.
if it come from overseas I really don't know, I think we are somewhat of the leader of doing that with food.
