They will graze harder wherever they do, keep those areas mowed down and not touch other places, don't seem to mind walking past plenty of tall grass between water and their favorite fresh growing short grass.
I divide pastures into sizes about 2 head per acre, make them eat it down good before moving to the next, can hay some pastures if the cows get behind.
No management not intensive grazing?
