Central Ga | I had about 40 acres of 444. Yield was between 1300 and 1400 lbs, irrigated. Would have probably been 150-200 lbs. better had we not had the worst fall weather I can remember. Quality was excellent with the exception of the color, which was simply weather related. Quite a bit had a staple length of 40. I don't remember strength and micronaire, but they were good as well. Plan to plant more of this variety next year. Will continue to plant quite a bit of 333. Thinking of slowing down with the 499, primarily due to high mic when planted early. Phy 552 is a new full season variety that looks really promising. Had about 50 acres on a marginal dryland farm that made just over 1200 lbs. with excellent grades.
