Citi with all do respect, I totally dis-agree with you on this. The getting long part, was a MASSIVE short covering rally (half the rally) NOT NET NEW BUYING. I've did acouple of very in depth post on this subject, dates/prices/money flows/short covering vs. net new buying. Maybe the first yearish I was in NAT ? I 'm not the best at searching back,,,,, but pretty sure I used PF/GBest in the post,maybe someone can find it ? That was a very time consuming post to do.

In a nut shell, PFGBest was the post child, of many traders making MASSIVE bets corn was going to 3 bucks by fall, then the big one hits. How he tried to raise money for the margin calls is what BURIED THEM********** He/They IDK were SELLING CALLS, above the market. He did try to hang him self in jail.
