Looking for something small and compact in the conceal carry department. Thinking 9mm size or approx. I have a couple S&W 40's already but I would not call them compact. Something with knock down but doesn't need to put a 5 gal bucket hole in it either. Recommendations? Holsters for belt and/or leg?

Personally I would likely carry a xd or a px4 storm compact.
We in Canada don't need to carry because there is no crime and if we have a home invasion the cops will be there in 30 seconds. Haha !
