If your are using Win 10 then OneNote is a powerful tool. I'm pretty impressed with the handwriting recognition. I wrote all of this in cursive with a surface + pen. Hand writing recognition isn't a gimmick anymore.
I use it to take screenshots and draw over top of diagrams sometimes. I know it can do way more.
