South Central NE | Do you have a good relationship with your uncles also? Do they have children that are interested in the farm? If they have been helping for 30 yrs they must be at least 50ish. Maybe you could just visit with the 3 of them the next time the door is opened to it. Tell them you how much you love farming and that you would like to be involved somehow. They may have already discussed it. Who knows? But, one thing I think you need to consider is education. I would certainly consider getting a degree. Be sure to include that in your discussion. By the time you have a degree they will be another 4 or 5 yrs older and might be even more amiable about including you. At first glance, it would seem you have a great opportunity if it plays out right. | |
