I'm pretty sure you can condemn his land to gain a public way to your land. That means a driveway through his field will become public domain so that you can get to your field.

Of course being a nice guy you would just run over his crops instead of putting in an actual driveway.

That won't help neigbour relations, but I'm pretty sure you can legally have that done.
