I only have an associates degree in electrical engineering technology. I suck at math. Never understood basic algebra. Failed both calculus tests in tech school. Have a hard time adding up my bridge hand in my head.
Where I work they needed to put a new single phase motor on a lathe that went bad. It had a drum switch to make the motor reverse. 4 electrical engineers from UW Madison could not figure out how to make the drum switch reverse the motor. When they went to lunch I hooked it up and had it working.
Math only gets you so far in real life. Getting the job done is what counts in my life. You math guys can solve for x while I'll get it working.

They were missing something in education......maybe not math, maybe it was the education that experience teaches, maybe it was problem solving skills, Which ever way, they were missing some education somewhere if they made it to being engineers. I'm glad education is there and available for those that want it.
