south west iowa | We have a 1996 379 Peterbilt with a Detroit 60 series motor. It has been setting for about 12 years. We put new battery's in it and gave it a shot of either and it started right up and pureed like a kitten for about a min or 2 then the check engine and stop engine light came on and about 30 sec later it shut down the engine. I unhooked the wire to the low coolant switch and used a jumper wire on it and still did not help. It has good oil psi. Any help with ideas to get it to stay running would be much appreciated. | |
