Subject: RE: 2005 Columbia battery drain

I bought a battery cable disconnect from an RV store and added a short cable with a battery terminal on it. Unhook the cable from the battery and install jumper harness and start vehicle for 30 seconds. Hook the multimeter between the battery and the jumper cable and disconnect the cable from the battery shunting the power through the meter. If you lose connection, start over.

An easier way would be to hook another battery to the systems with jumper cables and disconnect from truck battery with the jumper cables attached. Hook up multi meter and disconnect jumper cables.

You could very easily have a 3-5 amp load for a short period of time so use the 10 amp setting on the meter.
