I think allsand has it right,  rather than driving to a fixed position indicated by the flags you have set down for calibration, drive to a zero position as indicated by the monitor, we have better luck with this procedure.   also it seems that on a combine the offsets are figured different than a tractor, I can't exactly recall it right now, but use your on screen help or info dialog box it will explain the difference.
