Ditch the row crop, let neighbors get in a cash rent bidding war,,,,,,,,buy some cows to relax with!!! Seriously, you must have one hell of an off farm income to come up with a plan like that. Buy farm and make payments, buy machinery and cow pairs,,,doesn't add up for normal folks, you and your wife must have professional careers, need more details
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I plan on doing both cattle and row-crop from a sheer lifestyle choice. When kids are old enough to understand, I plan on starting them off with a calf and a few acres to learn the value of production/work ethic. Wife is a school counselor and I work at a rather large power plant. I view the land as a long term investment and the farming is way to either make a little or provide some tax advantages. |
