I didn't buy or plant any Syngenta.
Syngenta knew it was going to be in the stream of commerce by the number of bags sold. There was no way it was going to be sold and used only by farmers with livestock or to feedlots.
Anecdotally, I have heard from farmers that planted Syngenta's seed that they were not told about segregation requirements, etc. Maybe it was in the fine print.
Furthermore, maybe somebody can tell me if the pollen from the neighbor's Syngenta field floats across the fenceline and pollinates my non-Syngenta corn, doesn't that make my corn unapproved as well?
I don't buy it or plant it either.
So should gun manufacturers be sued when a gun is used in a crime. They sold so many they had to know some would be in the hands of criminals.
I personally don't believe anyone saying that they didn't know about the segregation requirements. It was more than fine print.
So I guess I should have been suing Monsanto all these years for the loads of conventional corn that I've had contaminated by their pollen drift.
