Massachusetts | What's the incentive to decrease cow numbers? Those fertilizer and chemical companies are few in number and united. There are so many farmers and all of us are not united at all. The 'average' farmer is looking after his bottom line and knows he cannot control the market by himself so he adds cows to spread his risk out so he can keep in business. The guys that decrease their cow numbers are headed out...they just don't know it yet.
I hate how this works in this industry but until there is some sort of widespread supply management or a quota system nothing will change. So let's just build another barn....and add more cows... | |
