NE Iowa | 10 gallons of 10-34-0 will get you almost 40# of P. It will cost you about the same as 100# of 11-52-0 and you will be getting 12# more of P. I like 5 gallons of 10-34-0 in-furrow but would never use it for the bulk of my P needs. Using only 10 gallon of 10-34-0 will probably not reduce yields compared to your dry program but it will only be supply about 2/3's of the maintenance P requirements. It will draw down your soil test levels. If I were you I would stick to the dry but switch it to the spring. If you are applying 150# of MAP it contains 16# of N and if applied in the spring it will be available to the corn. When it is fall applied it may be gone in the spring. Same goes for the S. All my P goes on in the spring because all P comes with N. | |
