Central Arkansas | There are supposed to be changes in pricing for next year, with fewer rebates on seed and lower Liberty prices. There are some nice rebates this year. Prices for seed were about $43 per unit prepaid in Dec., and Liberty locally is around $72.50, all before the rebates. This would cost $32.85 per acre for two 29 oz. applications of Liberty. We mostly made one Liberty application, but sometimes two. My preferred weed control is 38" rows, Dual pre-emerge, a shot of Liberty, then a hooded sprayer application of generic Gramoxone with metribuzen (Sencor).
We're happy with the varieties except for SDS resistance in a couple of pivot irrigated fields. Still looking for a great Liberty variety in that situation.
As an Arkansas weed scientist says "The most expensive herbicide is the one that doesn't work". | |
