Southwest OK | Yields on notill have been 45 on a droughty hill top to 99 on second bottom loam. This was last year. Year before from 59-89 on middle of the road ground. Had one quarter that I thought needed to be plowed to smooth it up. Made 12, planted within two miles, on similar soil and the day before some that made 67. All of these were planted with an air drill on 15 inch rows at 55,000. Wound up with a final stand count of about 48,000
The earlier the better as far as planting dates. April 17 is the "official" frost free date for me. I try to have everything ready to roll as soon as ground temps get close to sixty. Depends a little on the long range forecast.
