Concordia, KS
Looks good, milo is an amazing crop. In school we did a trial with different seeding rates. In a 130 bushel environment, with rates of 35,000 and 70,000 head number was statistically the same and the yield was within 2 bushels of each other.

We need to do some more research, but I'm trying to decide that if on our poorer ground (<100 bu) if we are better to plant thick (70,000) and try to get 1 good head per seed or use our typical 45,000 to 50,000 and hope for tillering. The sandy ground gets us early when it needs to be tillering but doesn't as it tends to be drier than out other soils. Our other dirt tends to run between 120 and 150 and 45 to 50K gets us good yields.

I'm thrilled that you guys have the potential for a good crop. After the last few years, you definitely deserve it.
