What worked for us was borrowed neighbor's pull behind broadcast spreader. Salford lightly before and after seeding. Very hot day 90+ we got the seed told boss if he seeded I'd Salford as air conditioner in tractor run's cold. Worked so well we even seeded some different lawn area's the next year the same way just different seed and spring instead of summer.
