Southeast Iowa | I did some pod counting today and came up with about a 50 pod average.
So if I planted 160,000 we will assume 145000 grew, For each bean that grew I get 150 harvested
If you calculate that out(145,000 plants x 150 beans) 3000 seeds per pound. It comes up to a 125 bu yield.
Why doesn't this work out that way to compute bean yields?
Where do all the beans disappear to?
