SEON | I've been disappointed with my organic wheat yields after alfalfa. ~40 bu on average. Touched 50 once when I squeezed a cover crop of buckwheat between the alfalfa plow down and the wheat. Old thin stand or a new thick stand doesn't seem to matter. I plow down around the June - July time frame then drill wheat in Sept.
Following a cover crop of peas is a different story though...70+ bu. | |
