Northcentral Kansas | The soil profile was very dry prior to June so even with nearly 10" of rain in June the profile did not get to field capacity. This year the field was planted to soybeans. We are not checking soil moisture to see if the higher infiltration will carry over. We have marked the strip and will look at yield monitor data to see if we can see a difference. With soybeans we may not see any yield kick from some of the sequestered nutrients becoming available like if he would have went back to corn with it. | |
