When doing corn, Dad tends to shuck it and cut out any bad spots. My job is to use a corn cutter to cut it off the cob, raw, using a corn cutter. Mom then adds a little butter (has done it enough she eyes it I think), then cooks it in the microwave. Bag it in plastic bags, let it cool some, and put it in the freezer. Ready to go after heating it through, and only slightly less good then eating it straight off the cob.
