Subject: RE: New at cover crops

Pilot Grove, Missouri
If you get a good stand of rye in the fall, you will likely not have any broadleaf weeds to kill. My rye went in late last fall, so I had a few scattered marestail. The rye is not hard to kill at all, as someone else mentioned 22 oz. of 5lb. gly. will kill it at almost any stage. This year I drilled my beans into the tall standing ryethe latter part of May. Sprayed the day after drilling with 40 oz. gly. and 3.2 oz. Fierce. Went back in with the 4 wheeler and 15 foot boom and spot sprayed the marestail with 40 oz. gly. and .3 oz. First rate. rest of the fields have not been post sprayed and are some of the cleanest beans in the area. Patrick
