New digital storage (flash drives,SD cards, etc) use Solid State devices to store data. Solid State devices can not be "Degaussed" (destroyed by magnetic fields). Placing a magnet beside one of these devices should not damage the device, or its information. As always, verify by test before using......trust but verify.
