Subject: Flooded Corn

Central Kansas
I had some good corn that went underwater about ten days before tassel. At the time, it appeared the top six to eight inches didn't fully get submersed in the flood. Since then, weather has been good have not had much drought stress. The field is at full blister to milk stage today. Anyways, in walking through this field now, about half of the plants don't have ears on them. The plants themselves look fine, standing about nine feet tall with dark green color to the ground. Tassels also look normal, it appeared that pollen drop was normal, but with what I have, you would assume that there was an issue. It varies most places, some plants will have good looking ears and then you will hit good looking plants with no ears. None. My question is that a normal reaction for hybrids that flood prior to pollination or do I need to be finding a new hybrid to plant on flood prone ground? TIA
