SE MN | We had lots of PP acres in our area in 2013. One option that many folks took was seeding annual afalfa, or dormancy 8-9 stuff with the idea that it would grow later into the fall and possibly be harvestable after Oct. 31. Nov 1st was considered the next crop year. It actually worked fairly well, the hay had to be wet baled and was fed first to avoid any possible spoilage problems. Another thing that some folks did was seed tillage radish and grazed cattle in the early winter on them. | |
