southern MN | I had grid soil testing done a few years ago for some reason they didnt test 6 acres off the straight side of a 25 acre field, very irregular on the other side but they got that all mapped, just drove down the middle of the good side for some reason.
That really threw off any sort of fertilizing for 4 years, as the coop couldn't really make the spreader cover gridded and non gridded at the same time, and with the small size and shape of the field....
Was a little disappointing, when you intend to farm better and stuff goes wrong, pay a few bucks for the grid sampling but then end up broadcasting anyhow....
Every spring I go in that field, I still scratch my head and wonder why they mapped it where they did, was all worked the same was bean stubble, the neighbors field at the time was alfalfa so you would think drive over to the alfalfa field.
