Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | If pushing through tall corn, the motors have a lot greater chance of overheating when running continuously or nearly continuously near the end of the machine. If a track is getting bad somewhere and there is a tower that has been having to claw its way through a tough spot, it may be able to keep up when the machine is running 50%, but at 100% it may not get through the tough spot fast enough and safety out. An undiscovered flat tire or failing gearbox is almost certain to be found on a fast pass, due to either reason above.
Depending on what you're applying, you may have to wait through a reentry interval before addressing a pivot problem, putting you behind on watering.
That's the kind of stuff that makes me hesitant to count on being able to run a pass at 100% late in the season, especially in corn.
