I actually have one of those, just hoping it would all fall off. Sounds like I will be spending some time on a ladder with that tool. Leaving it is not an option. I don't want this bin to go real bad and I hate leaving stuck stuff, plus that sounds a little lazy. And yeah definitely wearing a mask. Always do when I'm in a bin, otherwise always coughing up crap. Not good for the lungs.
It will dry and some of it will fall off. In my experience you want it to dry pretty good, and then when you hit on the chunks the whole thing breaks off the bin wall. If you try to scrape it off too soon you'll leave a thin layer on the bin that will take a steep brush to get off.
Good luck. BTDT, it sucks. Last time it happened to me the beans were dry, 10% or less, but one variety had a lot of green pods in it. Guess what settled next to the wall? The air didn't go through that layer very well, and I didn't think to run the fan a lot on dry beans.
