Central Missouri | Corn in the very central part of the state is good. A lot in the northern 1/3 didn't get planted. The eastern 1/3 corn crop is a crop insurance payment. SE Missouri I don't know. SW Missouri is hit and miss and some didn't ger planted.
I would say better than 2012 (couldn't be worse across the whole state) but it will be below average even if everything hits perfect from here on out. Some farmers will have a nice crop. I'm talking the average.
Beans on the average are 50-67% planted. Very few look good. Probably 1/2 of what got planted should have got replanted and couldn't because it was wet or were replanted. Not good. At all.
I would say we are cruising for yields similar to 2010 or 2011 for the state average. About 1/2 the farmers collected insurance those years. | |
