N FLA | Not to step into the snake pit. But there is a family store here that sells a line of local birth to plate corn finished beef. Born, raised, finished, slaughtered, and consumed here. They have been hormone and antibiotic free. This year they grew 80 acres of conventional corn. Consumers keep asking them to sell GMO free beef. He said they slaughter and sell 2 hd/week. Not setting the world on fire, but the price is about 2x the grocery store.
Its not that expensive to grow conventional corn. | |
