southern MN | Whatever you do, be careful on new fresh concrete. It might etch/stain/react more so than on old established cured concrete, with any suggestions you try. If you get to an expert with sound advice, be sure they understand this is new concrete, still curing, so their advice will be good and apply to new concrete.
Was the concrete coated with a sealer to let it dry slowly, and I think the idea is to keep salt and stuff away from it for a year or more, until it really finishes its cure and sweat out. So be careful what else you put on it.
Sorry I don't have any worthwhile ideas. Hate it when I get a good idea along with the time and money to do it, and then don't wreck it, but mess it up a tad right at the end...... Takes a bit of satisfaction off.
Good luck with it!
