Subject: RE: Rye cover crop question.

Callao, Missouri
My experience this year is that when planting corn into cereal rye it needs to be flat after planting. Beans don't care. In both cases I have the best experience killing the cover immediately after planting. I have had a number of bug problems this year so I am going to make sure corn and milo have in furrow insecticide and will probably include sprayer applied insecticide around the borders when I put down residual.
