This is weird. Maybe run an anti-virus to check that one of your computers has not been hacked and is not used as a server to send spam or something.
I would also open Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Event Viewer and check the Windows system log for Windows startup and shutdown events or Windows Update or other events at night, since you say you shut down the computers overnight.
If it happens every night, proceed by elimination, like completely shutting down one computer and one phone at a time every night. You'll soon find the culprit or know if it comes from the modem or router which may have been hacked, for instance. Regular data amount transferred at the same time make me think about an infected computer calling a command-and-control server to take its instructions for the day, like sending spam. 1.2GB is nothing for a regular Internet plan and hackers can expect it never to be noticed, but of course it's quite noticeable on a data plan.

You can also install a tool like netmon (Network Monitor) to log all Internet traffic in more details. Do you run Networx or something to know if your 1.2GB is a download or an upload?
