the 2006 that we have doesn't have ride control, on the bottom of the lift cyl where the two hoses hook up, is a regtangular block. must be the safety block you speak of? on this new 2004 that has the problem, there's the same block, but it's stacked below a larger block that has a solenoid on it for what seems to be the ride control hoses.

It would be impossible to get the block(s) off with the boom down, but I could put the safety block in the cyl and still have enough room I think to remove everything.

You think this safety valve could be the source of this chatter? can it be eliminated?
