If you know the document name or part of it search your entire C: drive not just the documents folder.

May have inadvertently gotten saved elsewhere.

I've found the search at the top right corner in windows explorer on Windows 7, to help track things down that I know I have but can't always find, to be very good.

May take longer to search all of C: drive though.
