Is we're plain and simple over-priced in the world market and we have been for most of this marketing year, leading to very poor exports. Its not the first time I've said this. Take soft wheat its either cookies/exports or feed bunk. We're over priced in the later 2 and my guess they long have enough wheat for the dam cookies.
Worlds stocks to use is horrible. It doesn't matter how bad the US crop is we have a lot of it around the world. We are around 182 Euro's for SRW right now. Eurozone is 10 or so less, Black Sea is 10 or so more than US. So we are competitive there. Historically US wheat has been cheaper than Eurozone a total amount of time of 12 months or so out of the last 4 years so it's not uncommon for US to be more and it's not just the dollar.
Day 2 of the tour found much worse wheat than last year. The western leg found 21 bu in two different avgs where 29 and 30 where found last year. |
