So far we've adopted auto steer (RTK) and its been great for our bedded ground. Really lets us keep the tacks (and compaction) limited to certain areas and lets us pull up beds at night. The next thing we started using was autoboom shutoff on the sprayer. The other day mine wasn't working and I about went crazy, don't know how to spray without it anymore. So far we've only did variable rate with the lime, saved a lot of money as some fields vary from high 7's to low 5's, or even upper 4's. Wanted to add it to the fertilizer rig but not at these prices, maybe next year. Last tech thing we did was put scales on the grain cart. I don't have yield monitor but the scales have let me compare side by side plots, which I feel has helped a lot on choosing the right variety. |
