23 million chickens killed a day in the U.S.A.
8.6 billion chickins a year-not a blip on the screen of the numbers-
U.S.D.A. has all the numbers-I think the duck kill was up some
Interestin world-In the United States theres around 300 chickens a second slaughtered that make us those wings legs and breasts-if we ever run out of wings it would really put a squeeze on wing nite at the local bars!
As we have seen before with mad cow and other cases of bird flu its not necessarily the amount of animals being killed by the disease that is important, but instead the public perception of eating sick animals. If it keeps getting bigger and bigger people will start to curb their appetite for the affected animal because of sensational news stories.
Tonight was the first time I saw anything on the national news, and I catch it on average 3 times a week.
