| There's not liquid ink in these cartridges, or rather, this liquid ink is in suspension in something like wax, which also prevents freezing to a point. The printers are thermal inkjets, and should work fine as long as you let the printer (and cartridges) warm up to operating temperatures (above freezing point).
The only problem with letting your computer or printer (laser ones too) in the car overnight during freezing temperatures is condensation, which will corrode the electronics when it's warming up. These printers are 5-6 pounds in weight, you should really bring them to the motel room with you, or let them sleep in the car with a thermos of hot water... | |
