I've been running my multiple Hondas on regular gas only. The problem I've found lately is if it has a chrome gas cap, there is a filter material in it that will plug up in the field. Loosen the cap and it runs like a champ.
Might not be your problem, but I ordered a bunch of the old black plastic caps and threw The new chrome caps away
