I think that is where the offset Groffs really shine, just rake away the heavy stuff, a little straw in the row is ok, like said below as long as you are not hair pinning a lot of straw in the seed trench it is ok. Just move enough to get good soil to seed contact and close the trench. Also I have cut 50 bushel wheat that was hardly knee high and some with tall straw so let your seed bed be your guide.
