Sunnyside, WA | Started Tuesday morning about 5am removing stalls. Poured the concrete at noon. Had to make the 2 entry steps on the other side longer so both sides were shut down for most of the day. Started on one side at 5pm and the newly remodeled side at 6:30pm. Had all cows milked once by 1am. Cows loaded very well.
Put the rest of the 4" pipeline in also Tuesday plus the parlor mats. Concrete was 2% calcium so we could walk on it and lay mats down less than 2 hours after it was poured. Took a crew of 16 guys to pour 22 yards just because it setup so fast.
Wednesday was spent getting the indexing to work, putting the new milk receiver for the 4" line, mounting the CIP fold down for the claws, etc.
Got the automatic takeoffs working Thursday. Also spent all day Friday working on miscellaneous items. Probably will have a few guys there most of this coming week also. Lots of details.
Cows and workers are happy. Double 16 makes a big difference. EZ starts, fold down CIP, and a pipeline that washes better are ig differences. Cows used to do a 180° turn on exit and now they flow much better. 10" deck lift really changes the view of the cow's udder.
