MN | 30 years ago I bought my dads machinery on a 10 year lease with buy out on end, It worked well, but, my dad died 1 year in,(farm accident) lease payments went to my mom, I had no equity in the machinery and had a tough time at some banks, around year 8 due to prrs in the hogs, Finally found a banker that looked at it and asked, there's only 2 years left on lease? Machinery actually had appreciated as we had it valued at 1985 levels when we did the lease. turned out o.k. but it was a rough ride. | |
