Subject: RE: Fluted/Ripple Coulter for John Deere Planter

Northeast Nebraska
I like less agressive ripple coulters for planting corn in soybean stubble because we're planting 2 inches deep and the fluted coulters will throw too much soil, especially if it's a little bit wet. I switch to the 13 wave coulters for no-tilling soybeans into corn stalks. The more agressive action will clear a path better through the corn stalks, and we're usually planting soybeans only an inch deep, so not much soil gets moved.
