Maybe some companies can just "flip off" the income stream and some can't. What if they need the cash flow to stay in business? They still have all of the overhead and debt that needs serviced. Its not a whole lot different than a farmer just leaving his equipment sit in the shed and the land fallow for a year with low prices. Sure some guys could do it, but a lot couldn't.
