SW, Missouri | Guys I'm looking for some advice and opinions on selling calves. We currently have two different bunches of steers and heifers. We need to sell some for various reasons so here's my question. Would you sell the 575#-700# group or the 700#-825# group? Or option 3 sell them all?
I've read and seen where the small calves bring the same dollars as the heavier calves. Do you think the market will come back on the heavier cattle say .10-.15 in the next 30-45 days?
My thought was sell the lighter steers now. I have no idea on the heifers, we've already sorted replacements out from both groups.
